Tutorial: Make your own light-up scleral inserter device with household items!
Dr. Morrison shows you step-by-step how to make your own scleral insertion device. One of the biggest adaptations to using scleral lenses for the first time is with learning to insert the lenses. This can be especially challenging if the learner has experienced significant vision loss or if they have never worn any type of contact lenses before. The good news is that there are devices that can help! Before purchasing a scleral insertion device, you might want to try one out at home to see if it works for you. You can make your own with a few simple household items: a disposable cup, a scleral insertions plunger, and a light (you can use the light on your phone, a wireless LED puck light, a keychain flashlight, or any light that fits under the cup). Let us know in the comments if adaptive devices like this have helped you with your scleral lenses! #ScleralLenses #Tutorial #AdaptiveDesign #ContactLenses #Keratoconus #DIY #DoItYourself #HowTo #Invention #Innovation #EngineeringDesign #Adaptives #AdaptiveDesign #AdaptiveDevices #2020Vision #CaseStudy #PatientSuccess #Optometry #Optometrist #Optometrista #ContactLensSpecialist #ICanSeeNow --- In Focus: Specialty Contact Lens & Vision Solutions Dr. Caitlin Morrison, OD, FAAO, FSLS Book online: www.youreyesinfocus.com Follow us: @eyesplain @infocusvisionsolutions
